Sustainability

Did You Know?

The manufacturing of home products is one of the leading causes of global warming.

Non-sustainable and unethically made furniture will end up in a landfill.

We build products made to last generations.

The manufacturing of furniture is a multifaceted process, from the gathering of raw materials to the final delivery, and the carbon footprint can be extensive if not managed carefully and thoughtfully.

Wood is a natural and renewable resource that replenishes itself year after year, lowering the impacts on energy, air, and water pollution. We often source local Colorado wood through Urban Salvage, coming from trees removed by arborists on private and public urban property, saving them from being destroyed and wasted.

Our mission at Dancing Grains is to deliver beautiful, hand crafted furniture in an ethical and sustainable way.

We started by working within the Colorado community, hiring local craftsmen and designers, sourcing materials, and eventually, opening our showroom on Pearl Street in the heart of Boulder.

We strive to cultivate community at Dancing Grains, sustaining a symbiotic relationship with the local people and businesses we work with.

Environmental design is about understanding the impacts of our actions and creating products that exist in harmony with our natural environment. We work at a standard of quality that lasts lifetimes, seeking to design spaces and products that are mindful, ethical and ground you with the natural world.

We Do

Employ local craftsmen and designers.

Source local and North American hardwood.

Work with our environment, not against it.

We Don’t

Import tropical or endangered woods.

Use high VOC or formaldehyde finishes.

Destroy our forests.

Help our planet by choosing natural materials.
