"GEM IN THE ROUGH"
...an elaborate dream had in the early hours of the morning before the rising sun, and late hours of the night, passing into sleep. The Gem in the headboard has created its own destiny as the key to this piece. It sits watchfully over the curvy, prominant stance of its structure, strong, and secure. Ten crowned T-slats eliminate the box-spring, creating a sleeker more solid platform for the best mattress and nights' sleep. It measures 60"Wx80"L inside to make it a queen-sized bed. The upholstered headboard easily slips out of the back to be reupholstered to match your colors.
Root Sculpture (table)
This is a beetle-kill (or blue-stained) pine trunk, over turned and hand carved with chain saw, gouges, rasp and file, then sanded to a smooth finish. The resulting sculpture is a dramatization of the original, smaller grooves in this trunk. It stands 30" high, reaches out to 32" at its width, and sits into a corner or angle at 31" deep. Add a quarter-circular glass top for more functional surface area.
A dark storm torments the three dimensional facias of this walnut console table. Extraordinary figure and contrast breath deep through the dancing grains of the live-edges, making it no exception to the rule that every piece embodies a story.
It fits on a wall or behind a sofa or love seat, standing 32" high and four feet wide. Give possessions refuge above the clouds in two ball bearing guided drawers and allow the storm to feed lively house plants on the lower shelf. Scroll to the banner at top of the page for a detail of the storm.
"...it's beautiful! I love the walnut grain, the shelf and drawers are perfect--this piece will be with me forever...the console looks marvelous." -D. Hughes, CA
